Windsor To Host Olympic Divers

The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre will be home to one leg of the FINA Diving World Series for the next four years.

Chief Operating Officer of Diving Canada Penny Joyce says it’s like a mini-Olympics. “It really is the highest level of diving that anyone can come out to see. It’s a real feather in our crown, for Canadian diving, to be able to get an event of this high quality in our country.”

This year’s series starts May 30 and will run until June 1. It will include both 3m and 10m diving, as well as synchronized diving events.

Canadian Olympians Roseline Filion, Meaghan Benfeito and Jennifer Abel are in Windsor today, celebrating the countdown to the series. They expect to be competing in the May event.
