Leamington Company Fined
A Leamington company is being fined $65,000 after a worker was injured while working on the construction of a greenhouse in 2011.
The worker was an employee of South Essex Fabricating Inc. and fell 11 feet from a hydraulic scissor lift on May 28, 2011 at a greenhouse on County Road 31.
The worker suffered serious injuries.
The scissor lift was built by South Essex Fabricating and did not meet the requirements of the National Standards of Canada for self-propelled elevating work platforms.
The company pled guilty to failing to ensure that a hydraulic lift met the requirements and was sentenced at a hearing on March 20, 2014.
