The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment’s Delta Coy Company is teaming up with The Job Shoppe to find reservists and war veterans work.

Officer commanding Cy McGrath says the HIRE program originally helped reservists in the regiment find work to top up their part-time income from the military, but the partnership allows it to serve military personnel across southwestern Ontario. Right now, up to 50 people are registered with the program, and veterans looking for work can sign up at Deltacoy.com.

McGrath says a lot of local companies simply don’t know what military personnel can offer. “They’re all very hard working,” he says. “The biggest thing is their leadership training that can be very easily translated into a civilian workplace.”

The Job Shoppe has offices in Windsor, London, Woodstock and Mississauga.
