Spitfires Loose For Game One

The Windsor Spitfires kick off the first round of the playoffs tonight against the London Knights.

London owned the season series, winning five of six match-ups, although four of those games were decided by just one goal.

Spits Head Coach Bob Boughner says his team is embracing the underdog role. “I think there’s probably more pressure on them than us. We’re going in as a loose group. We’re going to try and treat this series as having some fun and playing loose, I’m not saying in our systems, but playing like we’re going out there to try and steal a game in London.”

Boughner adds that players from the GOJHL’s LaSalle Vipers could be called up to the Spits for this series, as injuries on defence have them a bit stretched.

Puck drop’s set for 7:30pm at Budweiser Gardens in London.
