More Charges Against Alleged Imposter

Windsor police say a man, already accused of posing as a medical doctor, faces even more charges.

Police began their investigation after learning a family was charged $50,000 for a surgical procedure to cure a disorder suffered by their young child. The trouble was, the man offering to perform the procedure wasn’t a doctor. Click here for background information.

Since going public, police learned of five victims between the ages of four and 40 who were given medical examinations by a man who claimed he was a doctor and a paediatric neurosurgeon. Police say one victim suffering chronic pain was told the so-called doctor could get him a medical marijuana license for a fee.

Darko Jovanovich, 32, faces five assault charges and one additional charge of fraud under $5,000. Jovanovich remains in police custody and is expected to appear in court next month.
