Willistead Extended Pathways Approved

After a three hour debate Windsor City Council approved an expanded trail system be installed at Willistead Park.

Existing trails will be expanded to 10 ft. and additional 10 ft. asphalt paths will be installed around the perimeter.

Howard Weeks of the ‘Save Willistead Park’ group is disappointed with the decision. “Fortunately the weather is on our side they can’t get the backhoes in their yet, maybe that’s [serendipitous], maybe that’s the way it should be,” says Weeks. “We still have some time.”

Councillors who voted in favour of the pathways cited improved accessibility and park maintenance as major factors in their decision.
