Waiting For Weather To Break

Attendees visit vendors for the 2013 edition of Art in the Park.

The City of Windsor is hoping to have new pathways installed at Willistead Park before the beginning of June.

Council approved the decision to widen its existing paths, while making a new path around the park’s perimeter, at Monday night’s meeting.

Once the weather breaks, Executive Director of Parks and Facilities Operations John Miceli says the city can assess the situation and finish drainage installation. “We’re achieving two objectives here. We’re achieving the increased drainage in the park, which the park desparately needs. We’re also providing full accessibility to the entire park, so that every member of the community can have the full park experience.”

Miceli says the city also plans to plant 100 new trees at Willistead Park, once the paths are complete.
