Paula Flack and her son Austin implore Windsor City Council to keep the pool at Windsor Water World open.

No Water in Water World

There will be no more aquatic activities at Windsor Water World.

City administration recommended the closure of the pool because of low attendance since the new Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre opened.

Windsor resident Mary Medcalf says those numbers were predictable based on the activities around the pool over the last couple months. “There have been intermittent cancellation of programs due to stretched city resources. I know people who have assumed it’s already closed. There have been no clear time frames or process resulting in uncertainty so users have migrated away from the Water World pool.”

Non-aquatic activities like the fitness centre and Ontario Early Years Centre will remain open until a decision is made by the Catholic school board regarding repurposing the facility.
