Over 20 new cases of COVID-19 in Midwestern Ontario

Over a dozen cases of COVID-19 were added to the confirmed list in Midwestern Ontario Monday.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added another six cases of COVID-19 Monday. Two in South Bruce Peninsula, one in Owen Sound, one in Southgate, one in Northern Bruce Peninsula, and one in Grey Highlands. There were six cases referred from other health units, three in South Bruce Peninsula, two in Southgate, and one in Brockton.

There are now 68 active cases, and 21 active variants of concern. In all, there have been 58 variants of concern detected in Grey Bruce. There are 425 high risk contacts, and five people are now in hospital with COVID-19, along with two people hospitalized outside of Grey Bruce. There have been 870 confirmed cases, with 798 of them resolved.
There have been 4 fatalities due to the pandemic.

Huron Perth Public health added ten new cases of COVID-19 since Saturday. There are now 20 active cases. 15 variants of concern have been confirmed in the area. No one is currently in hospital due to the virus. There is an outbreak at Ritz Lutheran Villa long term care in West Perth.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health has not yet updated their statistics from weekend.
