New COVID-19 cases confirmed in Midwestern Ontario Monday

Huron Perth Public Health added four new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, one in Stratford, one in Perth South and two in South Huron. The number of variants detected is still four, and the pandemic death toll stands at 50. There are 15 active cases and no hospitalizations right now due to the virus.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added seven new cases Monday, two in The Blue Mountains, two in Owen Sound, two in South Bruce Peninsula, and one in South Bruce. The health unit reported eight cases referred from other health units, including two in The Blue Mountains, four in Southgate and two in South Bruce Peninsula. There are 40 active cases, and three people are hospitalized with the virus. There are 19 variants of concern being reported, seven of them active.

Public Health officials in Wellington County added seven new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, and there are currently 22 active cases. Six cases have been resolved, and the death toll from the virus stands at 35. Across Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health there were 54 new cases, and there are 135 active cases.
