Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) has some appointment spots available at next week’s influenza immunization (flu shot) clinics.

HPPH is opening these spots to anyone in the community who does not have a primary care provider (family doctor or nurse practitioner) and hasn’t already booked an appointment with a pharmacy. HPPH was previously only booking families with children under 5 who do no not have a primary care provider

Clinics take place Monday at the Seaforth Community Centre, as well as Thursday at the Strafford Air Force Veterans Building and at the Wingham Legion.

HPPH recognizes that the demand for influenza immunizations has been high this year, and hopes that this will help people who do not have a primary care provider access vaccine.

“First and foremost, our clinics provide access to those who are not able to get their vaccine elsewhere, such as through a primary care provider (6 months and older) or their pharmacist (5 years and older),” says Lorna Askes, Public Health Nurse. “Since we have some spots still open at our clinics, we are opening these appointments up to individuals outside of this original target group.”

The clinics will run between 2 – 6pm and are by appointment only.
