UPDATE: Storm threat ends for Sunday night

Environment Canada has ended a severe thunderstorm watch issued for Sunday.

The weather agency issued the alert Sunday at 2 p.m. for London, Middlesex County, Oxford County and Elgin County. According to forecasters, conditions were favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour.

Showers and isolated thunderstorms were expected to develop along a cold front and move across Southwestern Ontario into Sunday evening.

The watch was cancelled shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday for all regions except for Oxford, and for Oxford just before 9 p.m.
