Frost advisory in effect for Oxford County

Temperatures may be flirting with the freezing mark in portions of southern Ontario Saturday night.

Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for Oxford County, including Woodstock and Tillsonburg.

With lows around 2 C in the forecast for Saturday night and into Sunday morning, the weather agency says frost may form, damaging some crops in frost-prone areas.

Environment Canada says frost is less likely for areas near Lake Ontario where temperatures are expected to remain a few degrees above the freezing mark, and advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.
