UPDATE: Police Investigate Shooting In Amherstburg

The search for a suspect in an early morning shooting in Amherstburg led police to a west Windsor home where a standoff took place Friday afternoon.
Sandwich St. was shut down between Texas Rd. and St. Arnaud St. for the on-scene investigation. It has now reopened, but Grant St. remains closed as police continue their investigation.
Amherstburg Police Constable Shawn McCurdy says police got a report of a man suffering a single gunshot wound around 2:25am Friday.
A 31-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries. He has since been transferred to a hospital in Detroit where he is now in stable condition.
