UPDATE: Arrest Made After 3-Year-Old Dies In Hit And Run

Windsor police have made an arrest after a hit and run collision claimed the life of a 3-year-old boy.

The toddler was struck on on Wyandotte St. W near Bruce Ave. at 8:40pm Monday night. Officers arrived on the scene within minutes, and the child was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries later that night.

Police say the vehicle, described as a full-sized dark-green van with a beige stripe down the side and a ladder on the back, fled the scene eastbound on Wyandotte.

Early Tuesday evening, police announced that they have since seized a vehicle in relation to the hit and run, and have also made an arrest.  Investigators have not released any further information about the individual in custody, but more information is expected to be released on Wednesday.
