Saturday, July 26, 2014, marked the five year anniversary since the death of Jason Pearson from Waterloo.

Pearson, then 31, was a pedestrian using the roadway when he was hit by a vehicle just north of the Grand Bend Motorplex on Grand Bend Line. The vehicle driver left the scene and victim behind.

A second motorist came upon the collision and called for help. Jason was transported to hospital where he later died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.

The Huron County (OPP) Crime Unit would like to remind the public that this is an ongoing investigation and police are still seeking assistance from the public.

“Jason Pearson was a young man with family and friends who loved him dearly.  The driver that hit him needs to come forward, take responsibility and do the right thing.  We will continue to investigate until we can bring this investigation to a resolution and provide some level of closure for Jason’s loved ones” said Huron County OPP Detective Constable Heather Macrae in a release.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
