Charges In Fatal 401 Crash

A 57-year-old London man is facing charges in connection with a head-on crash on Hwy. 401 that killed a 13-year-old Windsor girl and her uncle.

Leszek Urbaniak, 57, of London faces two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

Urbaniak was driving his tractor trailer on the westbound 401 near Mull Rd. in Chatham-Kent on May 10 when it crossed the centre median and hit an eastbound car head-on.

Alyssa Smulders, 13, and Marc Lafontaine, 35, of Windsor were both instantly killed in the crash.
