Emerald Ash Borer Spreads In Huron Kinloss

The Emerald Ash Borer appears to be spreading north along the Bruce County shoreline.

Huron-Kinloss council was informed last night that the deadly tree disease has been found in Ripley and Point Clark.
It first appeared in Lucknow two years ago.

The Township’s Director of Community Services, Mike Fair, said all the diseased trees are on private property.
He also said those people with diseased trees should not take the wood to other areas because it can spread from there.

Fair said he is more concerned with locations than numbers.
He said diseased trees in a playground could be dangerous to children.
