Two Sarnia Sting players are included in NHL Central Scouting’s “players to watch” list ahead of the 2022 NHL draft.

Forwards Max Namestnikov and Zach Filak are listed as “C” rated prospects, which means they’re projected to be taken between the fourth and seventh rounds.

Namestnikov, who was chosen by the Sting third overall in the 2020 OHL draft, is pointless in four games this year.

Filak has one goal in the first four contests of the season. The Northville, Michigan native was selected by the Sting in the ninth round of the 2020 OHL draft.

A total of 66 OHL players are included on the list. The only “A” rated prospects are Kingston forward Shane Wright, and Matthew Poitras of the Guelph Storm.

The 2022 NHL draft is scheduled for July 7-8 in Montreal, Quebec.
