Sting sign third member of 2020 draft class

The Sarnia Sting have locked up a third member of their 2020 OHL Draft class.

The club has announced the signing of third-round pick (51st overall) Ryder McIntyre to a Standard Player Agreement.

The right-winger from Stouffville, ON suited up for the Ajax Pickering Raiders Minor Midget squad last year, tallying 24 goals and 17 assists in 36 contests.

He also put up 7 goals and 7 assists in 10 post-season games.

McIntyre said it's a dream come true.

"I am truly honoured and humbled to sign with the Sarnia Sting; I can’t wait to get started and meet everyone," said McIntyre. "I would like to thank Mr. Seca, the ownership, and entire Sarnia Sting organization for this exciting opportunity."

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said it's an exciting day for Ryder, his family and the whole organization.

"From the first time we met Ryder, we knew he was a high character individual and one we really wanted to have in our organization," he said. "We were drawn to his combination of size, skill and possession of an elite level shot. Ryder is the type of player who has tremendous upside and we look forward to watching him develop here in Sarnia."

The Sting recently signed 2020 draft picks Max Namestnikov and Zach Filak.
