The Lambton Lions women’s basketball team came up short at this year's provincial championships in Windsor, losing to the Algonquin Thunder 66-52 in quarter-final action Friday afternoon.
Breanna Pretty led the way for Lambton with 11 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
After a slow start Lambton closed the gap, outscoring the favoured Thunder 20-9 in the fourth quarter.
The loss ends an impressive season for the lady Lions, that saw the team host its first home playoff game in program history last weekend, a 96-67 win over Centennial College.
