Sting lose to Rangers in Kitchener

The Sarnia Sting lost to the Rangers 7-3 in Kitchener Friday.

Joseph Serpa opened the scoring for Kitchener at the 2:21 mark of the first period.

Sarnia's Ryan McGregor (24) tied the game 90 seconds later with assists from Sean Josling and Brayden Guy.

63 seconds later the Rangers' Jonathan Yantsis scored.

That was followed by goals from Sam Bitten (11) on the power play assisted by Josling and Peter Stratis, and Jacob Perreault (36), assisted by Jamieson Rees and Guy, giving the Sting their only lead of the game before Francesco Pinelli tallied for Kitchener to end the period.

It was all Rangers's from then on with goals from Liam Hawel, Serpa, Riley Damiani and Yantsis.

Sarnia starting goalie Ethan Langevin allowed five goals on 24 shots while Benjamin Gaudeau stopped 25 of 27 shots.

Kitchener goalie Jacob Ingham made 28 saves.

It was the fourth win in a row for the Rangers and eight of their last ten.

They are in third place in the OHL's Western Conference, one point back of first place London who doubled the Soo 4-2 Friday.

It was Sarnia's second straight loss.
