Sting's struggles continue with loss in Erie

The Sarnia Sting (16-22-4-0) lost 6-2 to the Otters (18-14-2-6) in Erie in OHL play on Sunday afternoon.

The Sting are struggling, with ten losses in their past 11 contests. Their only win over that stretch was on Saturday in Hamilton which snapped a nine game losing skid.

Ryan McGregor and Theo Hill scored for the Sting. Erie's Austen Swankler and Brendan Hoffmann both scored twice, and Chad Yetman, and Kyen Sopa added singles.

Ethan Langevin was pulled from the Sting crease after allowing four goals on 27 shots. Benjamin Gaudreau turned aside 12 of 13 shots in relief.

Erie goalie Daniel Murphy made 20 saves on 22 shots against.

The Sting scored once on four powerplays, and killed off three shorthanded chances.

Sarnia is last place in the Western Conference with 36 points, six back of 8th place Sault St. Marie and Owen Sound.

The Sting are back in action on Friday for a rematch with the Otters at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

They welcome Sudbury to town on Saturday afternoon.
