Sting stay hot, defeat Battalion Sunday afternoon

Sean Josling scored twice, and Jamieson Rees dished out two assists in the Sarnia Sting's (8-9-1-0) 4-2 win over North Bay (3-16-0-0) on Sunday afternoon at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The win is the Sting's ninth in ten games and fourth in a row.

After a scoreless first period, Anthony Tabak put the Sting ahead 1-0 with a goal 6:36 into the second frame. North Bay's Brandon Coe tied the game with a powerplay goal seven minutes later.

Josling scored midway through in the third and Theo Hill added an empty netter for a 3-1 Sting lead.

Mason Primeau edged the Battalion closer just 24 seconds later after tipping in a point shot from former Sting defenceman Nick Grima.

Josling's second goal of the contest, and 18th of the season, came on an empty-netter to seal the Sting's 4-2 victory.

Sting goalie Ethan Langevin made 27 saves on 29 shots, while Joe Vrbetic turned aside 17 of 19 shots faced in the North Bay crease.

Sting forward Anthony Tabak said the players are really starting to gel.

"Our lines are really deep, especially our top unit," said Tabak. "Our fourth line, as you saw, put in a really good effort tonight. They kept hemming them in their zone and that's huge. It gives us momentum and everything, and opens up lanes for everyone."

Sarnia sits fourth in the OHL's West Division with 18 points, six behind Windsor, Flint, and Saginaw.

The Sting's next game is on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Flint.

They head to Mississauga on Friday before hosting Ottawa on Sunday afternoon.
