The Sarnia Legionnaires (17-11-1-5) came back in the third period to defeat the St. Thomas Stars (11-19-3-3) 3-2 in overtime in GOJHL hockey play Thursday at the Brock St. Barn.
The Stars are now winless in their past 12 games, while the Legionnaires won their first in five.
Sarnia was down 1-0 after two, and 2-0 early in the third but Logan Gardiner scored twice to tie the contest and send it to OT.
After signing on with the Sarnia Sting, Nolan DeGurse continued his big day by scoring the overtime winner.
The Legionnaires were held scoreless on five powerplay chances and killed off all four penalties against. Sarnia was credited with 62 shots on goal, and allowed 27.
The Legionnaires remain fourth place in the Western Conference standings with 40 points, five back of Chatham and three ahead of LaSalle.
