Sting halt Attack

The Sarnia Sting came off their Christmas Break with a convincing 7-3 win over the visiting Owen Sound Attack.

The teams traded goals in the first period with Braden Guy (10) scoring for Sarnia and Kevin Hancock (27) for Owen Sound.

Hugo Leufvenius (22) gave the Sting a 2-1 lead at the 45 second mark of the second period before Daylon Groulx (10) replied for the Attack.

Jacob Perreault (18) scored to give Sarnia a 3-2 lead after two periods.

The Sting scored three goals in 2:02 minutes to begin the third period on goals from Perreault (19), Ryan McGregor (13) and Mitch Eliot (8).

Maksim Sushko (7) tallied for Owen Sound before Curtis Egert (9) scored for Sarnia.

Perreault leads rookie scoring in the OHL with 19 goals and 15 assists. " I just try to keep my game up every game. Playing with Hugo (Leufvenius) and McGregor is pretty great. They give me lots of time in big plays and I love playing with them."

The Sting's top line combined for ten points on the night with McGregor picking up three assists.

Ethan Langevin made 18 saves for Sarnia while Mack Guzda and Andrew MacLean faced 36 shots.

Sarnia is home to London Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
