Sting's Leufvenius on Sweden's preliminary U-20 roster

The Sarnia Sting's top scorer will look to earn a spot on Team Sweden's world junior club.

Hugo Leufvenius was named to the team's preliminary roster Wednesday morning alongside 25 other players.

The Swedes will need to trim their roster down to 22 players before facing off against Finland on Boxing Day.

Leufvenius leads the Sting in goals with 19, and points with 34.

The 19-year-old forward was one four OHL players selected to the preliminary roster.

Other invitees include Maple Leafs prospects Rasmus Sandin, and Timothy Liljegren. Both are currently playing for the Marlies in the AHL.

The last Sting player to play for Team Sweden at the world juniors was Ludvig Rensfeldt in 2012.
