Sting Drop One To The Otters 2-1 (GALLERY)

A go-ahead goal by the Erie Otters was enough to beat the Sarnia Sting 2-1 Saturday night at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The Sting sit in the third seed overall in the OHL Western Conference with 86 points.

The two competitors traded goals in the first period. Erie scored first with Troy Lajeunesse's 12th goal of the year. Brayden Guy tied the game up for Sarnia and the score remained 1-1 at the first intermission.

There was no scoring in the second period, and the Sting outshot the Otters 13-10 in the frame. Guy earned himself a misconduct for fighting Erie's Gera Poddubnyi.

Ivan Lodnia scored the game-winner for Erie at 13:18 in the final period.

Despite the loss, Sting goaltender Ethan Langevin had a solid start in his OHL debut-- the 16-year-old stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced.

Anand Oberoi stopped all but one of the 37 shots fired at him in goal for the Otters and was named first star of the game.

Sarnia hosts the Flint Firebirds Sunday afternoon at 2:05.
