The Sarnia Sting had no trouble getting by the Windsor Spitfires on Steven Stamkos night.

The Sting fell behind 1-0 in the 1st, but they scored 6 unanswered goals to win their 4th straight, 6-1.

Newcomer Michael Pezzetta had 2 assists in this one, giving him 3 points in his first 2 games with the Sting.

Despite his hot start with his new team, the former Sudbury Wolve says getting on the scoresheet is just an added bonus.

“I just try to come out every night and play hard and really bring energy to the game,” says Pezzetta. “For me to get a couple points, it’s always nice personally. But at the end of the day the wins are what matters, and for us to come away with 4 points on the weekend was big.”

Jordan Kyrou, Anthony Salanitri and Sean Josling each had 2 goals in this one, and Justin Fazio made 24 saves to pickup his 25th win of the season.

The Sting head to Flint on Wednesday, then they’ll return home to face the 1st-place Soo Greyhounds on Friday. Before that one get’s going, the Sting will honour Jordan Kyrou for winning gold with Canada at the World Juniors.
