Sting Beat Flint 6-2 For 13th Straight Win

The number 13 is lucky for the Sarnia Sting.

Sean Josling scored back-to-back goals in the first period in the Sting's 6-2 win over the Flint Firebirds Sunday afternoon at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The win gives the Sting a 14-1 record on the season, the best in the Ontario Hockey League and enough to be ranked number one in the CHL's rankings this week.

Josling's goals accounted for the first two in the game, coming within three minutes of each other.

With the score 2-0 after one period, the Sting added two more goals in the middle frame to double their lead. Drake Rymsha found the net at 10:20 and Jordan Kyrou scored less than two minutes later. Jack Phibbs put the Firebirds on the board right after but Sarnia got that goal back before the intermission with Jordan Ernst's seventh goal of the season.

Ryan Littlejohn scored his first season goal for Flint in the third period, but Adam Ruzicka had a power play goal for Sarnia later in the frame to seal the lucky 13th win in a row.

Aidan Hughes stopped 28 shots in goal for the Sting to get the win. Garrett Forrest had 20 saves for the Firebirds.

The Sting travel to Peterborough Thursday night.
