The Sarnia Sting used a strong start to its advantage and beat the Colts in Barrie 7-2 Saturday night.

It's the 11th victory in a row for the OHL's hottest team, giving them a 12-1 record for 24 points and the lead in the OHL overall standings.

Jamieson Rees scored his second goal of the season just 64 seconds into the opening period. Drake Rymsha doubled the Sting lead later in the period for a 2-0 lead at the first intermission.

Sarnia scored two more goals in the middle frame. Ryan McGregor made the score 3-0 at 9:04 with his fourth goal of the year. Adam Ruzicka added a power play goal later in the period to give the Sting a 4-0 lead. However, Barrie got on the board 15 seconds before the second interval with a Jaden Peca goal, his first of the year. The score was 4-1 Sting after 40 minutes of play.

Colton Kammerer picked up his first goal of the year at 1:11 in the third for a 5-1 Sting lead, though the Colts got that goal back at 8:54 when Alexey Lipanov scored. Franco Sproviero put up one more for the Sting before the end of the game.

Rymsha and Sproviero had two assists apiece in the game.

Justin Fazio got the win in goal for the Sting, saving 37 shots. This gives Fazio the franchise record for wins by a goalie with 64.
