Sting Sink Steelheads

Sarnia scored four second period goals en route to a 6-1 win in Mississauga Friday night.

Jordan Kyrou scored the first period's only goal six minutes into the game, with Matt Mistele picking up his first of two assists on the night. The overage forward also scored his 13th goal of the season in the second period and was named the game's first star.

Three of the Sting's four goals in the second came within a three minute span. Brandon Lindberg, Sasha Chmelevski, Ryan McGregor all scored for Sarnia to give them a 5-0 advantage though 40 minutes.

Mississauga scored a power play goal in the final frame to ruin Justin Fazio's shut out bid, he finished with 27 saves to record his 16th win of the season.

The Sarnia native says his team played well defensively.

The Sting's sixth goal of the night, his 10th of the season, came off the stick of Nikita Korostelev.

Sarnia (18-11-2-0) plays its final game before the Christmas break Saturday night in Erie.
