Bushnell Suspended Ten Games
A member of the Sarnia Sting has been handed a lengthy suspension before the season even begins.
The Ontario Hockey League announced Friday that second-year forward, and Tecumseh native, Noah Bushnell is suspended for the first ten games of the regular season.
The incident reviewed by the league was a checking to the head infraction by Bushnell that occurred in preseason action in London last Friday night.
OHL Vice President Ted Baker says the London player was injured and that played a factor in the league’s ruling.
Meantime, London’s Brett Welychka did not receive a suspension for his hit on Matteo Ciccarelli in the same game. The OHL ruled that the hit was not malicious and there was no intent to injure.
Ciccarelli was taken to London Hospital for observation but later released.
