The Sarnia Sting have chosen Czech forward Pavel Zacha with the first overall pick in the CHL Import Draft.

He’s a 6’3, 200 lb 17-year-old centreman whom scouts think could be a top 10 pick in next years NHL draft

Many of the world’s top wakeskaters are in town for the next three days.

Qualifying in the  Wakeskate Tour begins today (Thurs) and continues tomorrow  at Sarnia Boarder Pass at Sarnia just past Sarnia Bay Marina near the Point Lands.

Athletes from as far away as Europe, Thailand and Australia are hoping to advance to Saturday’s finals.

This is the first time Canada has hosted a tour event in wakeskating which is described as skateboarding  on water.   There are four stops on the tour with the winner of the world class event announced in Florida
