The Sim family legacy will continue in Sarnia.
The Sting have signed forward Lane Sim to an OHL Standard Player Agreement.
The New Glasgow, NS native was selected by the Sting 53rd overall in this year's draft. He had 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 total points with the Weeks Majors U18 AAA team this past season.

He added 10 goals and 10 assists through 10 playoff games played for the Pictou County-based team and finished tied for his team’s scoring lead with four points in five games at the Canadian U18 club championship. Sim also represented Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games.
Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said it's an exciting day for the Sarnia Sting and the Sim family.
"We see tremendous upside in him as a player," said Seca. "He combines a strong mixture of skill and competitiveness in his game. Something we know Sting fans will enjoy watching. We’d like to welcome Lane and the Sim family to Sting Nation."
Lane's father Jon is the Sting's all time leader in goals (165) and points (311).
He scored 56 goals in back-to-back seasons and was the OHL goal scoring leader in the 1996-97 season.
Following his junior career Jon had a very successful professional career which included 12 seasons in the National Hockey League, a Stanley Cup championship with the Dallas Stars, as well as championships in both the American Hockey League and Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
