Over $40K raised during Race to Erase

The 15th annual Race to Erase fundraiser raked in $40,089 for nine local charities, surpassing last year's amount.

Teams of four pre-registered to take part in team-based challenges across the city on May 27.

Last year, 28 teams raised over $27,000.

Committee member Kaley Holder has previously said they were happy to see interest pick back up again.

The "Baconators" were the top fundraising team as they raised more than $4,765 for River City Vineyard.

The fastest team was "Reporting for Recess" as they finished the events in 572 seconds. The two other teams with the fastest times were "VIP LOCOS" and "SCCYS Somewhat Heroes."

The Race to Erase website lists out how much money was raised for each of the nine charities or local projects supported this year, along with how the funds will be used.

This year's recipients included The Inn of the Good Shepherd, The Women’s Interval Home, SWONT Conductive Education, River City Vineyard, Pathways Health Centre for Children, Literacy Lambton, St. Clair Child and Youth Services, Rebound, and London Road School.
