The local death toll from COVID-19 has risen to 176.
Lambton Public Health reported the latest related death in its weekly update Wednesday. The health unit said an individual in their 80s died in hospital.
The health unit reported 28 new lab confirmed cases of the virus, and the average number of positive infections is up slightly at four.
There is one active outbreak at a retirement home in Lambton Shores.
As of Wednesday, there were five COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.
