The executive director of Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd is overwhelmed by the success of CANstruction this year.
Myles Vanni said the theme for the latest event at Lambton Mall was movies.
"This was a tremendous year for CANstruction," said Vanni. "Coming out of COVID, it's actually the best year we've had in the ten [years of] builds that we've done."
He said 49,800 pounds of food was collected this year.
"Which is pretty spectacular! That's almost a whole month's supply of food. So, to get that in one event is great."
While most of the 2023 winners were announced earlier this month, the People's Choice award was determined while the 15 structures were on display.

"Imperial was named as the People's Choice award winner. They received the most donations towards the Inn's programs."
In addition to the food donations, Vanni said about $30,000 was raised during this year's event.
