A group of over 100 Girl Guides and their leaders will hear about how five women changed the course of history, through the Famous 5 Foundation Speaker Series.
The event, held in partnership with the County of Lambton, will be held at the Sarnia Library Theatre from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The presentation will highlight the women who helped to bring changes to the Canadian legislature, in regard to the right to vote and women's rights.
Speakers will include Grade 12 student and international award winner Annabelle Rayson, Lawyer Maureen Cannon, Ann Newman of Operations Canada Lands & Right-of-Way and committee member for Famous 5 Foundation Speaker Series Sarnia Lambton.
Co-Administrative Community Leader for Girl Guides of Canada, Gwendolyn Dekker, will also lead interactive discussions on the rights of women and girls.
Girl Guides will also be able to have their photo taken with the Famous 5 Maquette. The sculpture is a two-foot-tall replica of the “Women are Persons” original monuments,
The Famous 5 Maquette has been on display at the Library Theatre for about a month and Monday will be its last evening in Sarnia.
