Lambton Public Health is looking for a pit bull and its owner after a person was bit outside the Exmouth Street Dollarama in Sarnia Monday evening.

The health unit said the incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. when the dog was tied up outside of the store with a long rope. The person who was bit did not see the dog’s owner.

The dog is described as medium-sized, black in colour with a white patch on its neck.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3601 or toll-free 1-800-667-1839.

The health unit said if the dog is not located and the health status of the animal verified, the victim will need to receive post exposure rabies shots.
