Sting rally for 4-3 win over Frontenacs

The Sarnia Sting will be heading into the final week of the Ontario Hockey League regular season with a shot at first place in the Western Conference.

The Sting strengthened their first-place odds Saturday with a 4-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

Nolan Burke scored his 50th career goal in the Sting's ninth win in the last 10 games.

"I thought we came out to a pretty good start and built a bit of a lead there in the first," said Burke during a post-game interview on Saturday.

He is the fifth player to score 50 goals in a season with the Sting.

"It means a lot. I'm in pretty good company up there," said Burke. "it's an awesome accomplishment. I've got to thank my teammates for that. I couldn't have done it without them."

The Sting went up 3-1 in the second period after Luca Del Bel Belluz and Cooper Way score just 1:27 apart.

A fourth goal was waved off for goalie interference with two minutes left in the period.

Marcus Limpar-Lantz scored the winning goal at 2:31 in the third period, snapping a 3-3 tie.

The Sting sit at third place with 85 points.

They trail behind the Windsor Spitfires with 90 points and the  London Knights with 88 points.
