Sarnia Fire recognizes first female acting captain

Community members are congratulating a local firefighter on becoming the first female acting captain in the history of Sarnia Fire Rescue Services.
Kim Lucier has been a member of Sarnia Fire for eight years.
She was one of three firefighters to recently complete and pass the acting captain exam, which means Lucier is qualified to step into the role when a full-time captain is away.
“It’s good to keep things progressing, and it’s always nice to be the first female to complete something like that,” Lucier said.
Lucier, who grew up in Sombra, said she intends to continue her career with the local fire department until she retires.
Sarnia Fire congratulated Lucier on social media, where Mayor Mike Bradley also wished her continued success in reply to the Tweet.
