There were 33 building permits issued by Sarnia City Hall in February, slightly ahead of last year's pace.
The year-to-date total is just over $9.7 million compared to $22.6 million in the first two months of 2022.
Last year's numbers were boosted by a $14.5 million permit for a mid-rise apartment complex at the London Road Shopping Centre.
Two permits were issued last month for single-family homes for a yearly total of six, down from 11 at the end of February last year.
