Kyrou signs entry level contract with Dallas Stars

Sarnia Sting defenceman Christian Kyrou has signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL's Dallas Stars.

The contract will begin in the 2023-24 season.

The 19-year-old has 18 goals and 49 assists for 67 points in 56 games split between the Sting and Erie Otters this season. In a Sting uniform, he has 31 points in 29 contests.

Christian, the brother of former Sting forward Jordan Kyrou, was acquired by the Sting on December 14 in a trade that saw defenceman Alexis Daviault head to the Otters.

Selected by Dallas in the second round (50th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Kyrou has 127 points (36-91--127) in 145 career regular-season games with Sarnia and Erie.

It was a big week for Kyrou. He was also named the OHL's player of the week, scoring two goals and adding five assists in three Sting victories.

Kyrou and the Sting are back in action for two games this weekend.

They host the Soo Greyhounds on Friday and the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday afternoon on CHOK.
