The landscape of local industry is transforming, and the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) is gathering feedback on the direction it will take over the next five years.
A community input session is being held next week.
Economic Development Officer Shauna Carr said the workshop will include opportunities for group discussions and networking.
"There will be a specific input availability for the folks working in industry and all of our partners," said Carr. "We want to hear from anybody who wants to have a stake in SLEP's direction for all of our communities. That includes all municipalities contained within Lambton County. We want to hear from you if you live in Petrolia, Dawn-Euphemia, Lambton Shores, or Enniskillen Township. Members of all of our municipalities are invited."
Carr said there's already a big focus on hydrogen locally, as Sarnia-Lambton has become Ontario's "Hydrogen Hub".
"There's also the green economy," she said. "We are a petrochemical based economy. We want to know how that transformation and movement in that piece could look going into the future, knowing that will be certainly more than the five years of this strategic plan."
The session will take place on Monday, February 13 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the St. Clair Corporate Centre on Front Street.
