Sarnia Kinsmen hosts online 50/50

The Kinsmen Club of Sarnia has launched its first ever Father's Day online 50/50 draw in hopes of supporting local not-for-profit organizations.

Sarnia Kinsmen Ribfest Co-Chair Jack Struck said they've done a lot of research on ways to help the community and hope they can reach more people by holding the online draw.

"By running a 50/50, we can support some of these organizations that are in need," he said.

"We know what's going on in the communities and we just felt that we had to reach out a little bit further than what we have been in the years past."

Money raised through the fundraiser will go toward St. Joseph's Hospice and other charitable organizations.

Tickets can be purchased through Rafflebox. Tickets are two for $10, five for $20, 20 for $50, and 100 for $100.

The winning ticket will be selected by a random number generation system and announced during Ribfest on Sunday, June 18.

The winning ticket will be drawn at 4 p.m. and the winner will be contacted to claim their prize.

Struck said a fundraising goal has not been set as any amount raised will be appreciated.
