Sarnia Sting pull out 5-2 win over Greyhounds

The Sarnia Sting took a 5-2 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Friday night, earning themselves a third consecutive win.

The Sting were outshot 16-7 in the first period but took a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes on goals by Easton Wainwright and Nolan Burke.

The Greyhounds evened out the score in the second period.

Cooper Way scored the final two goals for his first career two-goal game.

Nolan Burke added a goal and two assists. The Sting have tied the idle Saginaw Spirit for fourth place in the OHL’s Western Conference with 50 points apiece.

Ty Voit scored the game-winning goal at 13:27 of the third period.

The Sarnia Sting travel to Saginaw Saturday to play the Spirit at 7:05 p.m. Coverage on CHOK (1070 AM/103.9 FM) begins at 6:30 p.m.
