Four was just enough for the Sarnia Sting to come out on top Saturday night.

The Sting skated past the Kitchener Rangers 4-2 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena for a second straight win.

“I thought we came out really hard against them,” said leading goal-scorer Nolan Burke. “Kind of a good rebound from last night (Friday), I think none of us were satisfied with how we played.”

Sasha Pastujov opened the scoring 39 seconds into the game off a pass from Luca Del Bel Belluz.

“It set the tone for the rest of the game,” Burke said. “It was a good, quick burst for the boys (to) get them going.”

Burke scored two third-period goals, including an empty-netter.

The Sting led 3-0 most of the game until the Rangers scored two goals  52 seconds apart about half way through the third period.

The Sting allowed only one shot for the rest of the game.

“I think everyone’s mind was on these games this weekend but we’re obviously aware we have a big schedule coming up,” said Ty Voit.

The team outshot the Rangers 35-17.

The Sting’s power play is ranked 18th in the OHL overall with a success rate of 19.5 per cent.
