Drop in daily average COVID case count

The daily average number of COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton continues to trend lower.

Lambton Public Health reported 40 new lab confirmed cases of the virus in its weekly update on Wednesday, down from 77 reported a week ago.

The daily average number of cases has dropped from 10 to six.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 14,578 infections and 166 related deaths locally.

There are seven COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health.

There are three outbreaks in congregate settings. The most recent was declared on Tuesday in the Continuing Care Unit at CEE Hospital in Petrolia.
