Police continue search as concern grows for missing man

The search for a missing Sarnia man has entered its sixth day.

Cst. John Sottosanti said residents will notice an increased police presence again Tuesday as the search for 75-year-old Anthony Robertson continues.

"The Sarnia Police Service along with the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit, helicopter, and the use of London Search and Rescue, Huron Search and Rescue have been searching the city. At this time, we have not been able to locate Mr. Robertson."

Sottosanti urges residents to again check around their property.

Homeowners in the Stuart, College and Euphemia Streets area with security cameras are also asked to contact police.

"Everyone should be looking around their house, that is a for sure," he said. "We really ask that people search the area around their homes due to the fact that Mr. Robertson may have wandered into that area. That would be of great assistance to us. If you find something odd, like a coat or a shoe, matching the description that Mr. Robertson had of a blue plaid coat then obviously we would appreciate that information as soon as possible."

Robertson was reported missing the evening of Thursday, December 29. He was believed to be walking around the downtown area.

He's described as between 5'8" and 5'9", with brown eyes, grey hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid lumberjack style jacket with black jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-344-8861 extension 5300.
